The Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM) Thrift Stores serve the community  as a Christian ministry by offering affordable merchandise to the general public. The revenue generated through the sale of donated items is used to support the ongoing work of Knox Area Rescue Ministries.

The stores also provide KARM clients in our work therapy recovery programs an opportunity to work in a supportive, Christian environment where they can learn job and social skills. Visit www.karmstores.com.  

Thrift Store Pickup 
KARM Thrift Stores provide FREE pickup of large household items (see list below) for residents of Knoxville and most of Knox County. When we schedule a pick-up of your large items, we may also accept a limited quantity of smaller items (see list below). Donated items should be in good sellable condition. 

Please call 865.521.0770 to schedule a pick-up time. We will return your call within 24 hours and can usually arrive within a day or two, Mondays through Saturdays.  Or, conveniently schedule online at www.pickupmydonation.com.

Large Household Items (call to schedule a pick-up):

  • Furniture - tables, chairs, bedroom, living room, dining room, desks (up to 5ft long), large area rugs, bed frames, mattresses, etc.
  • Appliances - washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators, freezers, table-top microwave ovens, etc. (10 years old or less).
  • We may also accept TVs up to 36 inches (7 years old or less).  

Smaller Items (a limited quantity of these may be included in a
pick-up of large items):

  • Lamps, vacuum cleaners, tools, small area rugs, artwork, lawn mowers (no fuel in tank), space heaters, etc.    
  • Kitchen utensils, glassware, pots/pans, toys, games, nick-knacks, electronics, jewelry, etc. (packed in boxes).  
  • Clothing, shoes, coats, linens, pillows, towels, etc. (packed in clean garbage bags).  

Items We CANNOT Accept:

  • Pianos, organs, slate pool tables, dishwashers, gas appliances, built-in appliances, waterbeds, large fish tanks.   
  • Construction supplies, paint, doors, sinks, window blinds, carpet remnants, tires, auto parts.  
  • Any item needing extensive repairs or with very noticeable tears, holes, stains, or odors (smoke/pets/mildew/chemicals). 

Corners of Your Field
Corners of Your Field is a program of the KARM Thrift Stores based on Leviticus 19:9-10, which says, "When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very corners of your fields...you shall leave them for the needy and for the stranger."

While few of us have fields these days, we do have excess in our garages, attics, closets, etc.  WHERE YOU GIVE YOUR EXCESS MATTERS!  100% of the proceeds donated to KARM Thrift Stores benefit the poor and needy of our community. 

The Corners of Your Field program partners with area churches.  When members of participating churches donate goods at a KARM Thrift Store, the church then receives credit toward gift cards which the church can then give to those in need, redeemable at any KARM Thrift Store.  For more information, visit www.cornersofyourfield.com.
