"Pennies From Heaven" Mission Project for KARM Begins
 Penny drive is an an ideal summer project for children and families

(May 13, 2011, Knoxville, TN) Looking for a way to teach your children how to help others?  Knox Area Rescue Ministries' "Pennies from Heaven" mission project is ideal.

     "Pennies From Heaven" was orginally inspired by KARM client Barbara Ray as she walked to work and picked up pennies on the sidewalk.  She considered these God's "Pennies From Heaven" to her in a time of great need.  The KARM "Pennies From Heaven" mission project now teaches children that a little can be multiplied to become a lot in someone's life, helping them understand that  while one penny alone can do little, 179 pennies means the world to someone.  $1.79 can feed one hungry man, woman or child a nutritious meal at KARM and share hope that someone cares.  Children simply collect pennies and change in a jar and bring the jars to Knox Area Rescue Ministries.  Tours and groups can be coordinated through the KARM offices.

     While "Pennies From Heaven" can be an ongoing project throughout the year, it's perfect for summer vacation bible school events and other summer programs.

     Representatives from Knox Area Rescue Ministries will be happy to speak to your church or organization about "Pennies From Heaven" or any other opportunities for service at KARM.  In addition, KARM will provide flyers and jar labels for your church Vacation Bible School or children's department, your school, daycare, business or family.
