You Can Help A Family In Need this Thanksgiving.

Baskets of Hope provides families in need with a complete Thanksgiving Dinner for up to six people. This year, because unemployment is still high and many are out of work, KARM expects as many as 1,600 families to seek assistance in providing Thanksgiving dinner for their family. You, your church, Sunday school class, civic club, office staff, neighborhood association, or maybe just a group of friends, can make a lasting difference in someone’s life by reaching out to them when they are at their lowest point. All you have to do is fill a box!

2-4 p.m. 

Dates to Remember:

  • Baskets of Hope adoption forms will be available beginning October 1
  • 1,800 baskets must be adopted by November 9th
  • Baskets of Hope boxes will be available for pick up beginning October 22 (see adoption instructions form for times and location)
  • Filled Baskets of Hope boxes must be returned to KARM by November 15 (see adoption instructions form for times and location)

We encourage you to pray for our neighbors in need and include inspirational notes, information on your church, or a devotional book in your box. Be creative and decorate the box! Please do not include any personal information (name/phone number/etc.) in the box.

Basket Recipients' Information:  

To receive a Thanksgiving basket during the Knox Area Rescue Ministries Baskets of Hope event, please submit an APPLICATION FORM.  Basket recipients will be notified before the Baskets of Hope date.  Applications will also be available in October at the KARM front desk or through area social service agencies.
